DCYC Program Director

 

Courtney was previously a program manager at REACH, Inc., an out-of-school time literacy and workforce development program at District of Columbia public and charter schools. Prior to her engagement at REACH Inc., Courtney served as a program Instructor leading training sessions and supervising tutoring sessions. She guided teen tutors in creating lesson plans grounded in the five core components of literacy development: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and text comprehension. Within her program structure, Courtney would have teens use lesson plans to provide individual or small group instruction to 2nd and 3rd grade students who require additional support to become proficient readers.
